Wattbike Studio makes lasting impact on business at Holme Pierrepont

Since installing its new Wattbike indoor cycling studio last year, Holme Pierrepont Country Park, a Serco Leisure site that’s the home of the National Water Sports Centre, has seen a significant increase in cycle studio usage.

Before the install, class occupancy rates were at 40 per cent, however, with the studio repurposed with Wattbikes, including graphics, Wattbike branding and a big screen for interactive classes, the occupancy has grown to 80 per cent with more classes being added to the timetable to meet demand.

Jack Garner, contract manager at Holme Pierrepont Country Park, comments: “Usage and footfall has noticeably increased since launching the Wattbike studio, with nine new members signing up the evening we launched.”

“We have a real mix of members; from the elite athletes, tech-driven millennials and students, through to affluent professionals and the active aging population, all of whom have welcomed the studio with positive feedback.”

The new facility will be multi-purpose, so from an elite perspective, British Rowing, British Canoeing and the English Institute of Sport will be making use of it for talent identification, training, testing and rehabilitation. The new studio will also be used for regular small group training and personal training sessions for the general public.

Simon Overing, sales director at Wattbike, adds: “Installing the Wattbike studio at Holme Pierrepont Country Park has made a real impact on the cycling studio usage. This demonstrates how Wattbike can help you make a real, lasting and trackable change to your business.”
